The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) is an educational and scientific association aiming to improve patient care through the support of teaching, science, research and clinical practice in therapeutic interventional radiology and interventional oncology. With a total membership of 7,000 members, CIRSE inter alia represents all European national interventional radiology societies.
A substantial number of CIRSE members focus on interventional oncology, which is fast becoming the fourth pillar of cancer care alongside medical, surgical and radiation oncology. To further the advancement of interventional oncology and improve patient outcomes through collaboration with other medical disciplines, CIRSE regularly organises expert training courses throughout Europe as well as the annual European Conference on Interventional Oncology (ECIO).
